Counterfied Dutch issue of the original 1694 Paris edition. Description of the numismatic collection of François de Camps. The French numismatist Vaillant (1632–1706) travelled a lot in Italy, Sicily, and Greece from where he brought a large number of important coins and medals back to Paris. Thus the Royal French collection became one of the most important in Europe. The frontispiece and the medals of the original edition were accurately engr. by Ertinger while here they were copied by van Vianen and Schoonebek. – Lipsius 409 (ignores the forgery); Brunet V, 1027f.; Hoefer XLV, 831f. – Some heavier browning to the last few text leaves.
