First Latin edition of Patinus’ “Introduction à l’histoire par la connaissance des médailles” (1665). The erudite Patin (Paris 1633–1693 Padova) was surgeon and numismatist. He travelled much around Europe, settled shortly in Basle before moving to Padova where he became professor of surgery. – (As often bound with:) Suares, Joseph Maria.
