One of 100 numbered copies on vergé d’Arches after 100 on Japan of a total limited edition of 600. Texts by Octave Mirbeau (Préface), Théodore Duret (Biographie), Léon Werth, and Frantz Jourdain. Bound in a matching masterbinding by the Swiss bookbinder Friedhold Morf (1901–1960), student of F. H. Ehmcke in Munich and, from 1933 to his death, teacher for bookbinding at the Kunstgewerbeschule Zürich. – Five of the six vellum bands cracking. Clean copy. – Best.-Nr. 27518
