Antoine Galland’s (1646-1715) pioneer translation, revised by the French orientalist Jean Jacques Antoine Caussin de Perceval (1759-1835). Antoine Galland was the first European who translated the „One Thousand and One Nights“. His translation was first published between 1704 and 1717 and paid consideration to the French court in Versailles. One century later, Caussin de Perceval completed the tales with text passages omitted by Galland. – Brunet III, 1715f.
