Collection of Oriental writings, initially published in 1770 by French Orientalist and translator Denis Dominique Cardonne (1721–1783). Cardonne based his texts on the translations of Antoine Galland (1646–1715), who is most famous for translating „La mille et une nuits“ for the first time in Europe. The excerpts included in this volume cover a variety of subjects, such as philosophy, politics, law and society, among others. – Spine rubbed, especially on outer hinges.
