First edition of parts I and II of this picaresque novel by Alain-René Le Sage (1668–1747). The last work by Le Sage who became famous at all for the „Gil Blas“. Part I has been reprinted together with part II in 1738. – Brunet III, 1008; Cohen/de Ricci 635. – With 2 engr. bookplates (1 from the period, 1 from the 20th century) in both volumes. Title leaves somewhat browned. Spine ends chipped, corners rubbed. Good in all. – Best.-Nr. 25184
