Beautifully illustrated edition of the 72 novels by Marguerite de Navarre (1492–1549), a re-edition of the edition Bern 1780–81. The novels are followed by the „Nouvelles d’Antoine-François Grazzini, dit Le Lasca“, i.e. two novels by the Italian chemist and Renaissance poet A. F. Grazzini (1504–84), co-founder of the La Crusca Academy in Florence and there called „Il Lasca“. – Cf. Cohen/de R. 682 (same volumes dated 1787). – Some spine ends chipped.
